Jean Seaton celebrates the publishing of Animal Farm with appearances on BBC Radio 4 and APR
Last Monday marked the 75th anniversary of the publication of Animal Farm by George Orwell. To celebrate this birthday, Jean Seaton took to BBC Radio 4 and NPR to talk about the text and why it is still important today.
.
Appearing on Radio 4’s Beyond Belief, Seaton discussed the relevance of Animal Farm in modern times, stating that it is a book that “offeres a contemporary education as you read it, in how real resentments, decency and idealism can be manipulated – and in how to resist fashion however attractive”. Seaton also shared these views with NPR, exploring the background to Animal Farm and the importance of recognising the anniversary.
