Dr Agha’s main research interests traverse a number of fields including: Postcolonial Studies, Diaspora Studies, Film and Cultural Studies.

She is the founder and Executive Producer of Epic Wednesday Ventures-a production company focused on professionally documenting global diaspora stories rooted in memory and return. Her current project Aguda Returns: 1830- to the Future uncovers the untold story of the Aguda people – formerly enslaved Africans ( mostly of Yoruba descent) who returned from Brazil to Nigeria / West African communities in the 1800s.

As a guest lecturer at the London Film School ( LFS), Dr Agha contributed to the school’s Screen Studies program, specifically leading sessions on the Culture and Politics strand on Xala dir. Ousmane Sembene (1975) and Directing Strategies strand on Moolaade dir.Ousmane Sembene ( 2014) She holds an MA in French and Francophone Studies ( University of Westminster) and a PhD from the Department of English, Theatre and Creative Writing at University of London’s Birkbeck College.
